I returned from Arvon (post of 28 May) with new energy in my writing muscles and I have been keeping up the good work since.

The Arvon blog (kept up to date by Philip Cowell at the London office) is full of helpful hints and inspiring snippets.

Arvon Friends Online recently suggested the following: ‘use your Arvon Friendship online as a writing portfolio’.

This has already brought results. I uploaded some work – then I uploaded some more – until I felt I had enough to make a portfolio of work.

As a result I have been invited to join a comparatively high level (and thus more challenging) writing group (which shall of course be nameless to protect the innocent).

What a wonderful little showcase – and for those of us who have benefited from Arvon’s grant scheme in the past – it feels good, as a Friend, to be able to give at least something back.
